Eric was born and raised in Berwyn. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce (major in operations research/systems, minor in economics) in 1972 and a Professional Diploma in Education in 1976, both at the University of Alberta. After articling in Edmonton and writing his Chartered Accountant exam in 1977, he returned to the north to practice in Peace River. He was a partner in the firm from 1980 to 2005 at which time he became an associate.

He and his wife Leslie have raised two sons here and are involved in community life.

Eric concentrates professionally in small business in the areas of auto dealerships, forestry, energy and related services. He is also focusing more on consulting and retirement planning.

In life away from work, Eric's spends time on investment analysis and studies of the economic impact of change. He also enjoys racquet sports, kayaking, cycling, hiking and nature and wildlife photography and videography.
